“HARLEM TRANSFORMATION PROJECT” is a grassroots program to eliminate youth on youth violence in our communities. Sponsored by the community and directed by Akil Rose who is a Youth and Community Chaplain who believes that we must take into our own hands much of the responsibility to Heal our communities.

THE FOUR CORNERS OF OUR FOUNDATION:

HARLEM TRANSFORMATON PROJECT uses the tools of support group therapy, community service, sports and games a viable tool to transform lives to their highest potential.

To provide a safe and productive safe haven to positively better oneself through community service, sports and games. Which betters whoever we come in contact with, which eventually betters Humanity. This we call Transformation.

OVERVIEW: What are some of the things we do here
HARLEM TRANSFORMATION PROJECT is dedicated to addressing the Mental Health issues of our community and Mentoring our young Adults to improve the quality of their present and future life. We address substance Abuse, Recidivism, Violence, Ignorance, Poverty and the Toxic Thinking that may be the seed of dysfunctional behavior. Group therapy, Sports, Games, Community Service are our tools of Healing.

HARLEM PLAY 4 PEACE: SIDEWALK GAMES AND SPORTS SERIES

“HARLEM PLAY 4 PEACE: Sidewalk Games and Sports” is a grassroots program to eliminate youth on youth violence in our communities. Sponsored and directed by the “HARLEM TRANSFORMATION PROJECT”.

We use the models of Sports, Games and music and Performing Arts to attract youth to learn the social dynamics of life that will help shape their characters, intellects and visions that will one day lead the world we live in. We use the following disciplines:

Basketball
Chess
Boxing
Double Dutch
Board games
Performing Arts Theater, Poetry, Dance, African / Caribbean drumming

Each sport or discipline is taught by volunteers, professional and experts in their fields.

What We Do. Advocacy and Activism

1). Ending Gun violence in our communities and cities.

2). No psychotropic drugs prescription to our children is public schools.

3). Maintain quality teachers in our schools.
